Nexal Corporation
Statement of Year 2000 Compliance

Nexal products are capable of accurately processing, providing, and/or receiving date data from, into, and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000, including leap year calculations; provided that all other technology properly exchanges date data with it. Nexal products assume that the date data provided by the computer system BIOS and the underlying operating system are accurate. NOTICE: THIS STATEMENT IS DESIGNATED AS A YEAR 2000 READINESS DISCLOSURE PURSUANT TO THE YEAR 2000 INFORMATION AND READINESS DISCLOSURE ACT (U.S.C. 105th Congress, 2nd Session, S. 2392).

How Nexal Products Handle Date Entry

Nexal 16-bit products based upon Corel/Novell shared code 2.3 encourage users to enter the year component of the date data as a 4-digit value. Two-digit year entries which have a value of 00 through 69 are assumed to be 2000 through 2069 respectively. Two-digit year entries which have a value of 70 through 99 are assumed to be 1970 through 1999 respectively.

Nexal 32-bit products encourage users to enter the year component of the date data as a 4-digit value. Two-digit year entries which have a value of 00 through 20 are assumed to be 2000 through 2020 respectively. Two-digit year entries which have a value of 21 through 99 are assumed to be 1921 through 1999 respectively.

How Nexal Products Store Date Data

Nexal products, when used with Nexal-approved third-party database engines and/or SQL servers, use a 64-bit date value representing the number of 100-nanoseconds intervals since January 1, 1601, which is passed to the underlying third-party RDMBS for storage in its native format.

How Nexal Products Display Date Data

All Nexal Windows-based products during installation configure Windows to display the year date component as a fully qualified 4-digit value. This configuration setting can be changed by other applications during installation or manually by the end user.
